Experience the excitement of metal casting at Missouri S&T’s Open Foundry Day!
Join us this Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 244 of McNutt Hall, where you can learn how to melt and cast aluminum and create your own unique art pieces using the lost foam process. This is an open event for students, faculty, and the public—everyone is welcome to take part in the fun. We’ll be melting and pouring an aluminum aerospace alloy, and participants can design their own foam pattern to make a one-of-a-kind aluminum art casting. It’s fun for kids of all ages, from 8 to 100+, and a great way to explore hands-on engineering and creativity. The event will be held at 1400 N. Bishop Ave., Rolla, and AFS members are invited to stay afterward for pizza and drinks!
