The Greek Professorship at UMSL is strongly committed to making Greek culture accessible and open to the general public and boasts a wide variety of public events, from lectures and conferences to musical and theatrical performances. Monday,  August 29  2022 (The Annual Diane Touliatos Lecture) The Glory of Macedonia: Alexander the Great, the True Face of a Hero Speaker: Professor  Standis Apostolidis (Ionios School)


Friday,  October 7 2022 (The George E. Mylonas Memorial Lecture) At the Crossroads of History and Myth: The Great Mycenaean Kingdoms Speaker: Prof. Michael Galaty (University of Michigan) Location: St. Louis Art Museum (Organized jointly with the St. Louis Art Museum and Washington University Departments of Classics; and Art History & Archaeology.)

 Monday, October 24, 2022 (The Artemis Azariadis Memorial lecture) The United States Mediterranean Squadron and the Greek War of Independence Speaker: Prof. Antonis Kotsonas (New York University)

Unless otherwise indicated, all lectures will be held at the Century Rooms of the Millennium Student Center, with the reception at 7.00 pm and the lecture starting at 7.30 pm.  Individual announcements will be sent before each event.
