Missouri S&T's new Water Science & Engineering (WSE) program is an interdisciplinary graduate degree that combines expertise in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Geology, Geological Engineering, and Biology. Students in the WSE degree program will take courses in the following focus areas: (1) Engineering Hydrology, (2) Water Infrastructure and Remediation, (3) Water Resources and the Environment, and (4) Water Policy.
Industry leaders have expressed their need for a workforce that possesses a deep understanding of water-related challenges, which includes knowledge of water policy, water science and engineering. This program provides exposure to management, regulatory interactions and remediation of water resources, and the design infrastructure associated with water resources such as dames, levees and treatment plants.
