The October edition of the NextGen Discovery Series, "Using Bioactive Glass to Rapidly Stop Bleeding for Injuries in the Field" will be held on Wednesday, October 2, at noon, in the Innovation Forum located inside the Missouri S&T Innovation Lab. Dr. Mark Towler, the Linda and Bipin Doshi Professor of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, will share his experiences as an inventor. Towler developed a new technology to stop severe bleeding in the field. The invention is a bioactive glass powder that can be applied to a wound to dramatically reduce clotting time, whether that’s in the back of an ambulance, on the battlefield, or in the home.
