A2V was born out of a collaboration with the Legal Technology Laboratory, the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, and UMKC to create technical solutions for vexing legal problems. Over 10,000 homes are abandoned in Kansas City, Missouri causing fundamental damage to communities. The A2V project engaged the Land Bank of Kansas City, Missouri to provide a better home-buying experience for those interested in rehabilitating an abandoned home. Leveraging publicly-available open data, the A2V was able to create a home-shopping experience akin to commercial home-buying websites (e.g. Zillow, realtor.com). The project uses advanced data acquisition, cleaning, and analytical techniques powered by the Alteryx analytic software. The resulting process was selected as a winner of the 2018 Alteryx Excellence Award, a recognition of its innovative process. [caption id="attachment_521" align="alignnone"]
