Please join us at a special two-part reception to celebrate SPARK's 30 years of dedication to continuing education and lifelong learning opportunities. This free event will be hosted on Thursday, October 19th, with activities planned from 4:00-7:00 PM.
SPARK began in the summer of 1993, offering classes on the campus of Penn Valley Community College. After four years, SPARK entered into an affiliation agreement with the University of Missouri-Kansas City, officially sponsored by The Arts and Science Department of UMKC. By its 10th anniversary, SPARK had become a 501-C 3 non-profit corporation. At the beginning of 2020, SPARK's offices physically relocated to the first floor of UMKC Troost building and, shortly after, moved administratively under UMKC’s Division of External Relations and Constituent Engagement.
