Community Members Invited to Join the UMKC Campus Band

If you love making music and having fun...

If you play a woodwind, brass, or percussion instrument...

If you've played an instrument before and wish you kept active...

We want YOU to join the UMKC Campus Band!

Community members with prior wind, brass, and percussion experience are invited to play alongside UMKC Students, Faculty, and Staff in this ensemble designed to provide a high-quality musical experience in a positive and inclusive learning environment. Members of the Campus Band will rehearse on Monday evenings from 7:30-9:30 PM in Room 326 of the Olson Performing Arts Center and will perform one concert per semester. Rehearsals begin on Monday, August 28th.

There is no formal audition process, but registration is required, and interested members are asked to sign up for a short 10-15 minute meeting and playing demonstration before the first rehearsal. 2-3 years of playing experience is recommended but not required. Please note that there is a $40 registration fee.

Community Members must be 18 or older. Individuals over 50 may also be interested in the Roeland Park New Horizons Band program.

Please contact bands@umkc.edu with any questions.
