Des Lee Music and Arts Festival

The Des Lee Music and Arts Festival for middle school students (Feb. 4) and high school students (Feb. 5) brings students from across the St. Louis region together for a day of arts training with expert conductors and art educators. Each day concludes with a free evening concert and visual arts showcase.

The E. Desmond Lee Fine Arts Education Collaborative Invitational Music Festivals are held annually during the first week of February. The middle school music festival includes a 200-voice choir, a 110-piece concert band and a 110-piece string orchestra. The high school festival includes a 180-voice choir, a 110-piece symphonic band, and a 110-piece string orchestra. Visual arts students also create works and a display for the end of day showcase. The all-day festivals conclude with free evening concerts open to the public at the Touhill Performing Arts Center.
