Event
Dvořák’s New World: American Sounds

Daniela Candillari conducts Antonín Dvořák’s beloved “New World” symphony. The accordion takes center stage as Hanzhi Wang has made it her goal to spread word of her novel solo instrument across the globe. She brings imagination and freedom to the premiere of Nina Shekhar’s new concerto. Barber’s teenaged School for Scandal Overture fizzes with energy. Dvořák’s beloved “New World” symphony searches for the musical soul of America.

1 hour, 30 min (including intermission)

Tickets range $20 to $100

This program is a presentation of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra in residence at the Touhill Performing Arts Center at UMSL.
