The University of Missouri–St. Louis invites new and returning students to participate in the 2025 UMSL Keyboard Camp. The camp will take place in person on UMSL’s campus, with activities held in the UMSL Music Building and Touhill Performing Arts Center. Designed for enthusiastic keyboard students specializing in piano and organ, the camp aims to enhance technique, increase enjoyment, and elevate musicianship. Participants will explore new practice methods, techniques for improving sound quality, and professional shortcuts that enhance musical performance.
The camp will feature lessons, classes, conversations, and activities led by internationally acclaimed UMSL music faculty and guest artists. Daily sessions will run from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Central Time), concluding with a final performance on Friday, June 20, at 3:00 PM at the Touhill Performing Arts Center.
Organ Day, a popular feature of the camp, will return with a refreshed approach, led by Spencer Smith, Minister of Music at the Second Presbyterian Church. This special event will take place at the church’s Kirkwood location.
A unique artistic element will also be included, as painter Olga Rusinova will create live paintings of faculty performances. Additionally, Dr. Alexander Tentser will lead Piano Fitness sessions, while Dr. Daniel Kuehler will conduct Dalcroze Eurhythmics workshops.
Each participant will receive three private lessons with camp faculty, as well as access to masterclasses, daily practice sessions, faculty performances, and a closing recital at the Touhill Performing Arts Center.
