UMSL alum Brandon Jonas, now in his third year teaching at Cardinal Ritter College Prep, invited UMSL Director of Creative Services Traci Moore to speak to his Advertising and Media Studies class about the process behind the university’s new Louie mascot logo. Moore walked students through its development, from early sketches to the final design, providing insights into real-world branding and design. Jonas saw this as an opportunity to connect classroom learning with professional experiences, reinforcing the value of procedural awareness.
Jonas, who earned his master’s in special education from UMSL in 2021, values the education he received and the support from his professors. He appreciates UMSL’s commitment to student success, particularly for working professionals balancing multiple responsibilities. By bringing industry professionals into his classroom, he aims to show students how their studies translate into real-world careers, emphasizing the practical applications of their education.
