Do you prefer exploring the concrete jungle or the wild countryside? This camp offers an opportunity to explore both urban and rural environments in one experience. Gain a better understanding of the challenges faced in the 21st century.
During the urban portion of the camp, campers learn about the challenges city professionals face and how to balance issues like water quality, residential planning, building design and construction, and public health issues from a civil and environmental engineer. Campers will visit the S&T Green Roof facility, solar houses, geothermal system, the construction materials laboratory, walk the urban watershed, and treat drinking water.
During the rural portion of the camp, campers will explore nature and engage in activities that include water chemistry, soil chemistry, insect identification, rock hunting, and star gazing from a biology research scientist. If you are looking for a fun way to learn about the outdoors/camping in a space that is safe, this is your camp!
