Dr. Chris Naunton is an Egyptologist, writer and broadcaster. He earned his PhD from Birmingham University. He has written four books, the first of which was Searching for the Lost Tombs of Egypt, published by Thames & Hudson in October 2018. He also published Egyptologists’ Notebooks, ‘A celebration of Egyptologists’ intimate diaries and journals, brilliantly capturing the excitement of the golden age of Egyptology’ in October 2020.

His latest book for children, Cleopatra Tells All! was published in June 2022, a sort of sequel to King Tutankhamun Tells All! in 2021. He is the director of the Robert Anderson Research Charitable Trust (RARCT), a London-based charity that provides support to visiting academics. In 2020 he was appointed President of the Thames Valley Ancient Egypt Society (TVAES), one of the largest such groups in the UK with a very busy program of lectures and short courses. He gives popular lectures online and in person, leads tours to Egypt and has traveled to Egypt more than 50 times.

This event is sponsored by the Weiner Endowment for the Humanities and the Center for Science, Technology and Society
