Liz Hebbard, Assistant Professor of French at the University of Indiana, will serve as the plenary speaker at a joint meeting of several medieval societies focused on "The Medieval Out of Time and Place" on 21 September at UMKC. Our program is open to the UMKC and KC community.

Dr. Hebbard is Principal Investigator of "Peripheral Manuscripts: Digitizing Medieval Manuscript Collections in the Midwest", a digital humanities project to identify, digitize, and preserve data about regional digital collections. Learn more at https://peripheralmss.org. This project illustrates the number of European manuscripts made between the tenth and sixteenth centuries that are now in repositories across the Midwest.
