St. Louis Civic Orchestra – Carnival Overture, Boutique Fantasque, and the U.S. Premiere of Theodorakis Rhapsody for Trumpet

Join us as the St. Louis Civic Orchestra launches its 76th season with a thrilling evening of vibrant music and an exciting premiere. The program opens with Dvořák’s Carnival Overture, a joyful, high-spirited celebration bursting with energy and folk-inspired melodies. Respighi’s delightful La Boutique Fantasque invites you into a whimsical world where toys come to life in a magical Parisian shop. The evening concludes with the U.S. premiere of Mikis Theodorakis’ Rhapsody for Trumpet and Orchestra with renowned German trumpeter Otto Sauter —a powerful, expressive work blending Greek musical traditions with fiery trumpet virtuosity. Don’t miss this unforgettable start to a dynamic new season!
