Since 2022, Karen Boleska has led a trip to the Super Bowl, where a group from the University of Missouri–St. Louis volunteers at the biggest sporting event in the country. This year, 19 students, three alumni, and one staff member traveled to New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.
Despite a setback due to a power outage, the group made it to the Caesars Superdome and worked in various roles providing exceptional customer service, managing crowds, and assisting fans. Students interacted with VIPs and celebrities, including Flavor Flav, Gordon Ramsay, and Keegan-Michael Key. They also enjoyed Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show, offering a unique perspective compared to watching it on TV.
The trip included a networking event with 350 college students, a Super Bowl Breakfast with NFL figures, and valuable learning experiences from industry professionals. For many, it was an unforgettable experience that provided new career insights and connections.
