UMKC and UMSL are excited to announce the return of UniverCities Exchange! Join our panel of experts as we explore how music has shaped the identity, influenced the policy, and is setting the stage for the future of Kansas City and St. Louis. This free webinar is open to the public and is moderated by Elaine Cha, Host of St. Louis Public Radio's St. Louis on the Air.

Our Panelists Include:

  • Larry Morris, Director of Artists in Residency, Kranzberg Arts Foundation
  • Bukeka Blakemore, Deputy Executive Director, Creative City Kansas City- UNESCO City of Music
  • Matthew Henry, Associate Teaaching Professor of Music and Director of Percussion Studies, UMSL
  • Dr. Jacob Wagner, Associate Professor Urban Planning and Design, UMKC

Previous installments of UniverCities Exchange have been recorded and are available for viewing.


Impact

UniverCities Exchange launched in the fall of 2020 in collaboration with the UM System Extension and Engagement Week and has currently completed six installments covering important topics ranging from food insecurity to Missouri's mental health challenges. The Program has elevated the voices of those addressing the most pressing issues in Kansas City and Saint Louis. In the fall of 2022, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) named UniverCities the best Online Event Series in District VI.
