Eligibility requirements
To be eligible, you must meet the enrollment requirements of Missouri S&T. Reserve officers are eligible to attend, however, they must have successfully completed ECCC-RC prior to submitting an application for admittance with proof of graduation in the form of an ECCC-RC 1059.
Admission Criteria
As an ECCC student, you are subject to the same admission requirements as on-campus graduate students. The Department of the Army Form 1059 for the Engineer Officer Basic Course (EOBC) can be used by Missouri S&T as an official transcript, treating the academic work as equivalent to 15 hours of graded post-baccalaureate credit. These credits can be used toward your undergraduate GPA for admission consideration.
Military Construction Management Certificate
This certification program is open to ECCC students holding a Bachelor of Science in engineering or a hard science with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75, and who have a minimum of 12 months of professional employment experience. Once admitted to the program, you must take the four designated courses. In order to receive a graduate certificate, you must have an average cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better in the certificate courses.
Students admitted to the certificate program will earn graduate credit for the courses they complete. By completing a certificate program with a B or above in all courses, you can then be accepted into the Master of Science in Engineering Management program without taking the GRE.
All certificate courses are taught at Fort Leonard Wood in the evenings during the ECCC.
Required courses
EMGT 5110 Managerial Decision Making:
Individual and group decision-making processes and principles for engineers and technical managers with emphasis on the limitations of human rationality and the roles of social influence and organizational contexts; principles and skills of negotiation.
EMGT 5111 Management for Engineers:
The transition of the engineer or scientist to manager; study of management roles and theory, organizational systems, and behavior, managing and motivating technical personnel, leadership, communication, processes, and customer focus.
CV ENG 5445 Construction Methods:
Introduction to construction planning, selection of equipment, and familiarization with standard methods for horizontal and vertical construction. Application of network analysis and schedules to project control.
CV ENG 6443 Contract Information and Project Delivery Systems:
Project life-cycle planning and management. Roles and responsibilities of contract participants. Construction contract formulation. Obtaining work by negotiating and by bidding. Forms and variations of project delivery systems.
CV ENG 5360 Water Resources and Wastewater Engineering:
Application of engineering principles to the planning and design of multi-purpose projects involving water resources development and wastewater collection/treatment/disposal/systems. The latest concepts in engineering analysis are applied to the evaluation of alternative solutions.
