St. Louis women have impacted the city in numerous ways and the UMSL community wants to celebrate some of their accomplishments. On March 15th during Women’s History Month, students, faculty, and staff will be meeting in the quad to commemorate women who lived here from the origin of the city to current UMSL Trailblazers. The event will run from 11am-3pm using chalk as a medium, as participants are asked to chalk a name and the notable accomplishments of over 200 St. Louis women. The event is sponsored by the Pierre Laclede Honors College, Artist Anonymous, Women’s Gender and Studies, the State Historical Society of Missouri, and the LGBTQ and Diversity Initiative of the Office of Student Involvement.
