Students from the UMSL Honors course “St. Louis Uncharted – Mapping for Change” presented the results of their exploratory data analysis and geospatial visualization to the St. Louis Community at the TREX Innovation Center in downtown St. Louis on Monday, December 6. Notably, the audience had representatives from UMSL, TREX, and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.

Local high school teachers and 4-H leaders may see the area’s streams, lakes, caves and springs differently after undergoing training with geoscientists at Missouri University of Science and Technology.
Community Members are invited to join UMKC students in collecting toys for patients at Children’s Mercy.

The UMKC Center for Neighborhoods has released a study of small apartments in the Central City Economic Development (CCED) area, including parts of 18 neighborhoods in KCMO.
Since voters agreed on funding a General Obligation bond, the city has started a 20 year, $150 million project to repair Kansas City sidewalks. Pilot programs are being launched to find new ways of creating more efficient sidewalks, including the help of UMKC students.
