Community Heart Screenings Help Identify Risk Factors

Neighborhood Leadership Academy provides hands-on leadership training emphasizing community building principles, organizational leadership and management practices, and personal leadership skills. The program connects resources at University of Missouri-St. Louis (Community Partnership Project, Nonprofit Management and Leadership Program, and MU Extension) to residents and neighborhoods wanting to create more livable communities.

The Neighborhood Leadership Fellows (NLF), is an advanced leadership program through Creating Whole Communities representing a partnership of UMSL, MU Extension, and St. Louis Promise Zone. NLF aims to increase North St. Louis City and County residents’ participation in civic decision-making tables in order to produce more equitable regional policies for neighborhoods.

The Mizzou Academy team includes 75+ faculty and staff dedicated to supporting academics, development, and business services. Mizzou Academy values partnership, innovation, access, and inclusion. Its mission is to develop local and global school partnerships, build educational programs, and support students as they grow toward their individual potential and solve global challenges.

The eMINTS National Center was created in partnership with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Missouri Department of Higher Education to help schools and teachers meet the demands of digital age teaching and learning.

In collaboration with Veterans United Home Loans, we are training post-traumatic stress service dogs for US military veterans. The dogs come from animal shelters, are pre-trained in basic obedience at the Boonville Prison, and then are trained on the special skills to help a veteran. The program matches the veteran with the dog through careful assessment.

The Institute of Public Policy at the University of Missouri conducts process and outcomes evaluation and data management for the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. The program aims to reduce teen pregnancy rates and risky sexual behavior among Missouri’s middle school and high school youth.
