Using policy, systems and environmental community work, how do we get people to make healthy choices if they have not experienced or lived the healthy choice journey? The healthy choice path includes seeing, touching, feeling and thinking about real-time food options and access.

In this session, panelists will explore ways that various forms of urban agriculture can increase food production and distribution to reduce food insecurity and shrink cities’ food deserts. We’ll discuss initiatives in Kansas City and St. Louis that are underway and opportunities to get involved.

Learn the cultural significance of food in different parts of the world and how we develop traditions around what, where, when and why we eat and drink.

MU Extension & Engagement will be hosting a food drive to benefit Tiger Pantry, October 22nd, 2021 from 7:30AM-1:00PM. The food drop-off location will be at the North entrance of Hitt Street garage in Columbia.
