Health Teacher for Youth Ambassadors KC

For the past several years the UMKC Social Work Department has worked with Youth Ambassadors KC. Sarah Pilgram has served as a presenter for their in-service training, a health teacher to 50+ youth aged 14 -18 in the Kansas City area, a site coordinator, and have worked with the Executive Director to develop scholarship opportunities.

UMKC students interested in foreign language education can intern at language immersion programs at the KCMO School Districts, tutoring students and assisting teachers.

Spanish Language Literary Magazine

The Foreign Languages and Literatures Department has launched an online literary and art magazine in Spanish, Baladí, with contributions from students, community, and international creators (Spain, Cuba, Mexico…).

Entrepreneurship Scholars (E-Scholars)

E-Scholars is an early stage student entrepreneurial ideation and acceleration program designed to support students and community members in building sustainable and scalable ventures.
