The UMKC Institute for Human Development (IHD) is an applied research and training center for human services. It exemplifies the university’s goals of engaged scholarship and community partnerships. Its functions include interdisciplinary training, applied research, community program development and information dissemination.
UMKC Institute for Human Development’s Adult Continuing Education (ACED) program offers adults with developmental disabilities opportunities to attend non-credit classes in university settings. ACED encourages students to achieve individual goals by participating in life and skills enrichment classes in an educational and social environment.
