The UM System Office of Engagement and Missouri AfterSchool Network will host a collaborative research pitch competition with $25,000 in prizes available to support the creation of a new or expansion of a current research project focused on youth development and well-being.

Dr. Kristin Hawley will describe the current youth mental health crisis in the U.S., where more than one in five youth suffers from an impairing mental health concern, and many families are unable to access effective care.
Follow up Dr. Hawley’s presentation with further discussion in one of five breakout sessions based on participant interest area.

MU Extension senior program directors will lead targeted discussions related to youth within each of five program areas

Out of School Time (OST) describes a supervised program that youth regularly attend when school is not in session.
