Workforce Rally Webinar Series

Born out of a need to serve businesses struggling with the impacts of COVID-19, the Workforce Rally Webinar Series was designed to present content on a variety of topics, including:

· COVID-19 Disaster Resources

· CARES Act Updates

· FMLA for Employees

· Shared Work

· Local Workforce Development Opportunity: Unemployment Resources

· COVID-19: Impacts on Agriculture & Rural Economic Development

· ACT Work Ready Communities—a framework to align Education, Workforce, and Economic Development

· Work Ready System Recovery for COVID-Resilient Workforce Ecosystems

· Fiduciary Duties for Employers to Remember Related to Cobra, Group Health Plans and Pension Plans

· ACT Work Ready Rock Stars

The presentations leveraged the expertise of a number of major stakeholders in the economic development community. By collaborating with statewide partners, the team was able to focus on delivering a high volume of information at a critical time during the pandemic.

Impact

The Workforce Rally webinar series constructed new professional and engagement channels, convened workforce stake holders and businesses across the entire state of Missouri. The Rally connects labor and workforce actors around current and emerging issues and provides timely education and resources that businesses need now. The program pivoted to more than six new webinar series totaling more than 50 Labor and Workforce webinars. An outgrowth of these efforts has resulted in partnerships and collaborations across the state that are invaluable to providing the information and resources businesses and communities are seeking.
